These terms apply when you use Unpacked by Hectar at unpacked.hectar.global (“Unpacked”). Unpacked is published by Hectar Global Pte Ltd (“Hectar”, “we”, “us”). By using the site, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
What Unpacked is
Unpacked publishes explainers, analysis, charts and trackers on global agri trade, free to read. Our content is general information. It isn’t investment, trading, legal or financial advice, so please read our Disclaimer before relying on anything you find here.
Using our content
Everything we publish, including text, charts, data, images, logos and design, belongs to Hectar or to the people who licensed it to us, and is protected by copyright and other laws.
You may:
- read our stories for your own information
- share links to our pages by email or on social media
- quote short extracts, as long as you credit Unpacked by Hectar and link to the original page
Without our written permission, you may not:
- copy, republish or distribute our content in full or in large parts
- use our content in a product or service you sell, or for any other commercial purpose
- remove or change any copyright notice, credit or logo
- use bots, scrapers or other automated tools to copy content from the site, build datasets from it or train AI models on it. Search engines indexing the site for search results are welcome.

The newsletter
The Unpacked newsletter is free. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
Messages and pitches you send us
When you send us a message, a story pitch or a partnership request, you confirm that the information is accurate and that you have the right to share it. You keep ownership of your ideas and your work. We don’t have to publish a pitch or reply to every message. If we commission a piece from you, we will agree the terms with you separately. If you send us feedback or suggestions about Unpacked, we may use them freely.
Using the site fairly
Please don’t use Unpacked to break the law or send spam, and don’t try to hack, overload or disrupt the site.
Links to other websites
We link to other websites and data sources to show where information comes from. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content or practices.
No warranties
We work hard to get things right, but the site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”. We don’t promise that the site will always be available or free of errors, or that the content is complete, accurate or up to date. Markets move quickly, and a story that was right on the day it was published may not be right today.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, Hectar and its directors, staff, contributors and partners are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss of profit, revenue, data or business opportunity, arising from your use of Unpacked or your reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
Indemnity
If you break these terms and that leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and losses we face as a result.
Changes
We may change the site or these terms at any time. When we update the terms, we will post the new version here and change the date below. If you keep using the site after that, you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore. The courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
